When I started planning how we wanted to celebrate our little guy, I KNEW we had to include some kind of animal into the theme because he is obsessed! Then his love of tractors (or really anything with big wheels) started to grow so we chose a FARM theme!
When I start planning a party once I’ve picked a theme I usually pick one item and work my colors for the event around that! For this party I snagged this fun linen striped tablecloth at BARGAIN HUNT of all places and knew it would be the perfect neutral backdrop for bright balloons and red plates.
The biggest hit of the party was the “petting zoo” (very generous term for the goat “Annie” and our chicks) 🙂 The kids had a BLAST holding and petting and Penn especially loved snuggling and “kissing” the chickies.
Sweet Annie was so patient with all the kids but at one point during the party craziness we looked over and she was in there butting over the birthday boy, HA! I think she was trying to say stop stealing the show I’m supposed to be the cute one here 🙂
Its not a party till you dress up, right? I thought the kids would have a blast wearing these bandanas but turns out when its 185 degrees outside no one is trying to add another layer 😉
The best part of celebrating birthdays is getting to spend time with family and friends! Penn ends our birthday season till April (well other than mine in Oct of course 😉 so its time to scheme about Christmas parties I suppose…:)
