Fresh Ideas for the New Year

Uncategorized

Hey friends! I hope your Christmas and New Years were peaceful and merry! I love everything about the Holiday season, but I am never sad to have the opportunity to be intentional and think through how we can better invest in our relationships, use our resources and spend our time!

I thought it would be fun to share some of my favorite home design trends currently, and how to easily incorporate them into your home! I always get the design itch in January and sometimes all it takes is moving some pictures or furniture around to scratch it! Or maybe a little DIY project does the trick!

First up that I’ve been crushing on big time is millwork.

I LOVE how they made it custom to the headboard and art here!

If you have an existing wall in your master that is blank, its SO easy to just add trim around what is currently there and *BAM* custom! I am loving the tone on tone vibe, but you can always paint it a contrasting color to add interest!

Kitchen Millwork. LOVE the larger, flat trim they used here and the longer on top, shorter on bottom makes the room seem larger as it carries to eye up!

Millwork isn’t just for bedrooms! Look how beautifully McGee and Co. used trim in this space! I love the feel of it being a focal wall. It also eats up space on a big wall if you’ve been scratching your head about what art to hang!

The best part about this trend is there are ENDLESS possibilities of how to incorporate it. Different sizes, styles, shapes of trim, painted the same color or different..bedroom, kitchen, playroom, bathroom etc!

I’ll be sharing more trends in the future! What have you been itching to tackle in the new year?
